Industrial Placement

Position: Two Software Engineers
NewVoiceMedia provides state-of-the-art technology for call centres: our customers range from blue chips such as BT and the Royal Mail with large call centres and hundreds of agents, to a host of SMEs and charities who don't even think of themselves as being a call centre. Our small team  covers a lot of technology areas: from low-level internet telephony, cloud computing, distributed systems, resilient databases, speech technologies through to highly functional AJAX web front ends.

NewVoiceMedia has a track record of supporting students through industrial placements. The company provides support and mentoring through a Senior Project Manager and the tasks become progressively more challenging as the student learns. For the 2010 placement, projects will include:

• internet telephony 
• the integration of high-value hosted telephony applications with Salesforce.com,
• working on cloud computing deployment monitoring
• automatic provisioning tools with BT and Amazon.

Requirements
MEng Computing students (6 months: April–September 2010)

We are looking for people that are bright and have an eagerness to work with new technologies, to be adaptable, and want to make a difference in a small team.

Salary & Benefits: 
£28,000 per annum pro rata
