Director of Product Management Telephony

Role overview and responsibilities:

As Director of Product Management you are responsible for Product Management of the Telephony infrastructure of our CC product line. You will work on developing product vision, strategy, roadmap. You will be able to balance business needs, delivery costs with technical constraints and love bringing new products to market and to our customers. You must be willing to defend that strategy against random changes, fads and single customer escalations. You will look at the “Big Picture”, looking at the competitive landscape, the customer base and market opportunities focusing on business results (revenue, margin, delivery cost) over feature deliverables.

Product Management at NewVoiceMedia drive the entire product lifecycle from defining the target through to checking whether business forecasts match the real world performance. Specific responsibilities will include:   

  • Set the strategic direction for the product and feature set aligning with the business goals
  • Build and deliver on a product roadmap working closely with the Dev/Ops Execution Team
  • Define the User Experience and high level UI of the product and its features
  • Empower and supervise key internal stakeholder to deliver the roadmap
  • Manage and build relationships with 3rd party partners to deliver a market leading product portfolio when relevant
  • Develop and ensure the success of the GTM strategy with all other areas of the business
  • Responsible for the P&L of the product line
  • Monitor changing market trends and segments for business opportunities and impacts
  • Evaluate business opportunities & impact and build business cases for new products and features including evaluation of whether we should build, buy or partner

Skills and experience required:

  • Engineering (Computer Science) degree
  • MBA degree is an advantage 
  • Experience and understanding of the cloud CC & UC markets – 3 years
  • Deep understanding of voice and cloud communication – Telephony, VOIP, webrtc, SIP
  • Experience and success in building a highly growing and profitable products - 3 years 
  • Strong experience in Software Product development life cycle managing multiple products with a concentration on multi-channel contact center infrastructure - 3 years
  • Experience in dealing with and incorporating third party products, OEM relationships
  • Strong background in requirements definitions, translating customer needs, market trends, strategic imperatives into business requirement documents and functional requirement specifications
  • Strong experience in Software go-to-market techniques
  • Strong experience in Agile Development practices
  • Experience in working with Salesforce (+other CRM – advantage)
  • Superb communication and presentation skills; Flexible; Ability to lead by example
  • Willingness to express opinion and challenge existing thinking
  • Can be self-directed and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
